Easley High School Athletic Department Announcement
RE: Introduction of Easley High School Girls Basketball Interim Head Coach
Easley High School is excited to announce Mr. Terry Patterson as the Interim Head Girls Basketball Coach for the Green Wave. Coach Patterson has recently been serving as the Head Boys JV Basketball Coach at Easley High School. Coach Patterson’s background includes varsity level experience in football, basketball, and softball. Coach Patterson served as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Liberty High School for 4 years leading the program to the playoffs 3 out of 4 seasons.
When asked about his plans for the Green Wave, Coach Patterson responded, “I have a true passion for coaching and mentoring young people to be not only successful athletes but also strong students and leaders. I am excited for the opportunity to serve as the interim coach for the Lady Wave Program. My goal is to help these young women grow in their skills, teamwork, and confidence both on and off the court.”
EHS Principal Josh Oxendine commented, “Terry Patterson is an experienced coach who brings a wealth of basketball knowledge to our program. Terry has the unique ability to build positive relationships with his students and players and his enthusiasm for the game will be contagious. As an important member of our faculty at Easley High, this adds to the great impact that he has had on our campus, and I look forward to watching our program grow and compete.
Easley Athletic Director Gill Payne added, “I am very excited that Coach Patterson has volunteered to lead the girl’s program this winter. His expertise and relationship with students will be invaluable as we look to continue to build the Lady Wave Basketball Program.”
Coach Patterson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Southern Wesleyan University and has taught PE at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. He is currently on faculty teaching PE at Easley High School.
Terry is married to wife Jessica for over 20 years, and they have 3 children: twin sons Beau and Luke (12) and daughter Josie (7).
