EASLEY RALLIES FOR WILD 36-35 WIN OVER RIVERSIDE
Easley erased a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit Friday night, scoring 13 unanswered points to stun Riverside, 36-35, at Houston Field.
Whitley Rodgers put together a monster performance through the air, completing 13 of 24 passes for 354 yards and four touchdowns.
Chase Wimpey was nearly unstoppable, catching four passes for 152 yards and three touchdowns, including scoring grabs of 10, 52 and 56 yards.
Maddox Raby added 118 receiving yards on four catches, while Leyton Scott caught three passes for 48 yards and a touchdown. Owen Ross finished with two catches for 36 yards.
On the ground, Jay Payton rushed for 70 yards on 16 carries and scored the game-winning touchdown with 4:15 remaining.
Defensively, Blake Sewell led the way with a whopping 19 tackles, two sacks and three tackles for loss. Rhys Brewer added seven tackles, while Cayden Cromer and Jordan McCray each recorded five.
Zach Reeves also connected on a 22-yard field goal for the Green Wave.
Easley totaled 430 yards of offense, including 354 through the air, and held Riverside to 35 points despite the Warriors piling up 475 total yards
Easley improves to 1-2 with the comeback victory.
